Small shop.
Big pride.
Since ’67.

It started on a card table.
It became a family tradition.
In 1967, Bob and Alberta Gordon started Foster-Gordon in their Brooklyn apartment. Working from a card table, they set out to build a business of their own, learning every part of the trade along the way.
They researched machinery, worked through the logistics of production, and figured out how to turn an idea into something they could make and stand behind. Bob went from school to school on foot across Manhattan, introducing the company and working to earn each new customer’s business.
Every order was a step forward. Together, Bob and Alberta built Foster-Gordon from the ground up through hard work, dedication, and the care they put into the products and the people they served.
Today, our family carries that work forward in Bohemia, New York. We honor the effort they put into building this company by bringing that same care to every cover and book we make. Their determination is part of our family’s history, and it continues to shape how we work.
Still family owned. Still made in the USA. Proud to carry on what Bob and Alberta started.
Real people, hands-on craftsmanship, and the belief that the details matter. Some things are worth keeping.
